1 Timothy 6:9-11

⁹ For those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and snares, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown man in perdition and destruction.

¹⁰ For the desire of money is the root of all evil; for which some - while lusting after it - have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things! And pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness.
